ABAS/TPA Simplifies Insurance Companies’ Handling of Mid-Size Accounts

With our success and growth over the past 20+ years and our considerable impact on the marketplace, insurance companies have come to realize that ABAS/TPA provides very valuable services to the industry.

In today’s group health insurance market, there’s little margin for error. That’s why an increasing number of insurance carriers are turning to ABAS/TPA for the marketing, claim administration and billing of their midsize accounts. ABAS/TPA markets companies’ products through hundreds of the finest independent agents and brokers across the country. These relationships allow you to reach an established broker network and to quickly switch products or underwriting criteria without further investing in a field marketing staff.

ABAS/TPA utilizes the most sophisticated computerized claim management system in the insurance industry, QicLink™, through TriZetto® (RIMS), which expedites claim processing and allows ABAS/TPA to boast a claim error ratio that is a fraction of the industry’s average. The same attention to detail assures accurate and prompt billing and correction. The automated system also enables ABAS/TPA to provide you the most comprehensive and detailed management reports available – so critical to accurate underwriting decisions.

Product Information

  • American Medical Access Plan (AMA Plan)
The AMA Plan, insured by Companion Life Insurance Company, an A+ carrier, is a simple, limited group benefit plan for working America, which was designed to help meet the needs of uninsured American workers. The plan offers basic health coverage, coverage for doctor office visits, x-rays and lab tests, prescriptions and hospitalization. Enrolled employees and their dependents will be covered with basic group term life insurance, and they can also add valuable dental and other coverages to meet their needs.

    • Guaranteed Issue
    • Part Time and Seasonal Workers
    • Fully Insured

  • ERISA Based Single Employer Trust (SET) Programs
SET plans are a relatively new concept, recently made available to employers with 25+ employees. Under this arrangement, the employer selects one of the available benefit options which best meets the needs of his employees. ABAS/TPA, through its available reinsurers, provides an aggregate only policy, at the equivalent rate to fund the program to the maximum claim liability. The advantage of this program to the employer is that SET plans are governed by the Federal ERISA laws and do not fall under the somewhat restrictive small group reform regulations required by the various states Departments of Insurance. Due to this fact, SET plans, in general, are more flexible and cost effective than traditional small group fully insured programs.
